Cherry Purple is a genre-blurring indie rock band born in the suburbs of Chicago. Formed in 2021 as an acoustic duo between Brazilian vocalist Carolina Dezó and American guitarist/producer Logan Brinkerhoff, the group quickly expanded into a full band with the addition of Josh Wolf (drums) and Tommy Glaviano (bass). Together, they’ve crafted a sound that’s both raw and cinematic—combining hypnotic riffs, sultry vocals, and rhythmic textures into something entirely their own.

Drawing from the grit of Queens of the Stone Age, the vintage flair of Françoise Hardy, the moodiness of Arctic Monkeys, and the heaviness of Black Sabbath, Cherry Purple creates music that feels both retro and forward-thinking. Their lyrics navigate dreams, disillusionment, love, and power with a psychedelic edge.

After playing for a couple of years in local circuits, the band took their sound international with a 6 show Brazil tour in 2023, culminating in a music video that captures the energy and surrealism of their live show, followed by the acoustic EP ‘Do Outro Lado Do Sol’ which was inspired by the music they heard while there.

With their second full-length album ‘Dreamrock’ currently out now, Cherry Purple is stepping into a new era of sound—moody, electric, and unmistakably theirs.

Born in Brazil, Carolina infuses Cherry Purple with a magnetic presence. Her voice drapes itself in smoky velvet one moment, then erupts with power the next—where vintage French pop and classic Brazilian-influenced melodies meet the grit of underground rock. As the band’s lyricist and vocal melody writer, Carolina crafts each song with emotional depth and vivid storytelling.

Josh’s drumming breathes life into the band’s every movement —tight, expressive, and always surprising. With deep roots in indie rock and hip-hop, and over 15 years of drumming and beat making, he anchors the group’s shifting dynamics and keeps the energy unpredictable.

With over 20 years of experience as a musician, composer, and producer, Logan is the sonic architect behind Cherry Purple’s evolving sound. A multi-instrumentalist with a background in classical and film composition, he fuses melodic instinct with heavy textures and experimental tones.

Former singer/guitarist for Captain Coopersmith, Tom is an essential part of Cherry Purple’s sound and songwriting process. His bass lines are equal parts groove and grit, gluing together the band’s dense harmonic layers while adding a melodic pulse. He brings a raw, instinctive presence to both the stage and studio.

New Album: Dreamrock (2025)

Cherry Purple’s second LP is a hazy, high-voltage dive into the surreal. Equal parts swagger and melancholy, Dreamrock channels the energy of 70s psych-rock through a modern indie lens. With fuzz-soaked guitars, seductive vocal lines, and immersive grooves, the album moves through shadowy love songs, defiant anthems, and dreamlike soundscapes.
